I have this annoying pimple/cold sore underneath my lip. It also has caused the bottom of my lip to swell right where the pimple/cold sore is. How do I know whether this is a pimple or a cold sore?
Cold sores you usually break open. Abreva, Valtrex and Acyclovir are options, however the problems is it takes time to heal. For a cold sore to heal faster it needs to dry out. A friend of mine recommended this great product and it actually dried out the sore within 10 minutes and started to scab (which is the healing process). The product works great. you should consider it.

Cold sore blisters usually break open, weep clear fluid, and then crust over and disappear after a few days.
A pimple would have puss in it (and be white) not fluid filled
Try using a hot compress to open the 'pimple' I'd say it's a cold sore- head to the drug store for some things to treat it.
A pimple usually opens or heals in about 24-36 hours once it forms a head...
Other symptoms may include:
* A sore mouth that makes eating, drinking, and sleeping uncomfortable. Cold sores can be painful.
* A fever.
* A sore throat.
* Swollen lymph nodes in the neck.
